This summer, dig into the past and Unearth a Story at your library! Dinosaurs have fascinated readers of all ages for generations, and our collection is packed with books that bring these incredible prehistoric creatures to life. Whether you're a young explorer just beginning your dinosaur journey or an experienced fossil hunter looking to learn more, there's a story waiting to be discovered among our shelves.

As you participate in this year's Summer Reading Program, take the opportunity to uncover new knowledge and exciting stories about these ancient creatures. Patrons can learn about many different types of dinosaurs, from giant plant-eaters like Triceratops and Brachiosaurus to fearsome predators such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor. Curious readers can explore books about armored dinosaurs, horned dinosaurs, flying reptiles, and even the massive marine reptiles that lived alongside them. Our collection includes colorful picture books for young children, engaging nonfiction titles filled with fascinating facts, and adventure stories inspired by the prehistoric world.

Beyond learning about individual dinosaurs, readers can discover the remarkable story of how paleontologists uncover clues from the past. Use SC Lends or Hoopla to find books in our collection that explain how fossils are formed, how dinosaur bones are excavated, and how scientists use evidence to reconstruct ancient ecosystems. Readers can follow real-life fossil hunters on exciting expeditions and learn about some of the most important dinosaur discoveries ever made. Every book you open is another chance to Unearth a Story millions of years in the making.
