In her memoir she She explores her struggle to reconcile her desire to learn with her upbringing , personal identity and her changing view of the world and her family as she was exposed to the rest of the world. Powerful and well written.

Satrapi depicts her childhood in Iran, where she experienced war and life under an oppressive regime, in black-and-white cartoons in this memoir. Her book was turned into a movie in 2007, which I think is just as good!

I'm going to say the cliche librarian thing - the book is better than the TV show. This memoir follows a nurse's career at a clinic that provided healthcare for poor women living in London's slums in the aftermath of WWII. Some of the things that Jenny experiences are incredibly sad, but many stories that she shares are heartwarming or downright hilarious. All in all, this book shines with the genuine compassion that Jenny held for the community she served.

Robin Roberts, athlete, groundbreaking sports reporter, and now the face of Good Morning America has written a heartfelt memoir that explains her positive approach to life. The book's title sums up her reaction to battling breast cancer and a rare blood disease -- everyone has at least one hard thing to handle. She discusses faith, hope, and optimism with humor and heart. The book is a very quick read, but also very inspiring.

An incredible story of a Jewish boy who survives WWII by hiding his identity, convincing the Nazi's that he is ethnic German; eventually, he ends up in an elite Hitler Youth boarding school where his secret becomes even more perilous. The book inspired a movie that won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.

Trevor Noah is such a great storyteller. His unique experience offers insight into apartheid in South Africa, and how always being an outsider made him a better comedian. But the most moving part is his relationship with his mother. I can't recommend the audiobook enough!

Untamed is a story celebrating one author's liberation from not just a divorce but also from the limitations placed upon her by herself and society. I found it to be very empowering, honest, and humorous!

As a Real Housewives fan, I really enjoyed reading this memoir by Lisa Rinna. She not only talked about her experience on RHOBH, but dived deeper into her personal life. A must read if you're a fan! 

"Greenlights" is Matthew McConaughey's love letter to life and a culmination of all the lessons he's learned, the successes and failures he's experienced, and his roadmap to living a fulfilled life. He recalls some of the most notable adventures of his life but also shares lesser known exploits. It's an interesting and engaging read! He's narrates the audiobook, which really elevates the listener's experience.

I loved this book as a kid, as this was the only autobiography I knew of that wasn't stuffy. Bill Peet's memoirs are very similar to his children's picture books: wildly colorful illustrations and an engaging writing style. I will never forget when he leaves Disney Animation proclaiming, "No more ducks!" after drawing hundreds of Donald Ducks to fill out animation sequences... only to sheepishly return next day for a forgotten jacket to discover he'd been promoted! You might be surprised to learn how much classic Disney films have been influenced by Peet. A real-life adventure story for adults and kids alike.

Thoughtful, moving, funny... Nature is an unpredictable, beautiful, companion in this memoir.
