Summer Reading isn't just about discovering your next great read, it's also your chance to be rewarded for reading! If you're playing our Summer Reading game, you'll earn incentives along the way and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win some incredible grand prizes!

This year's Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program is packed with rewards for readers of all ages. Whether you're a baby, toddler, child, teen, or adult, there's something exciting waiting for you as you reach each reading milestone.

Reading Milestone Incentives

After reading for at least 20 minutes a day for 10 days, participants can receive their first reading milestone incentive! Children can choose one of the following: a mini notebook, dinosaur-themed rubber duck, dinosaur fidget toy, dinosaur egg, or keychain dinosaur popper. To help with dealing with summer heat and sand gnats, teens and adults receive a "My library is fantastic!" foldable fan. Perfect for keeping in your purse, backpack, or car!

Read for at least 20 minutes a day for 20 days and receive a Reader Reward Card! All ages will earn this incentive which can be redeemed at a number of local businesses for a free "treat". From free crystals to ice cream to mini golf, there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

Everyone who reads for at least 20 minutes a day for 30 days will complete their Summer Reading game board and be entered into our grand prize drawing. Children will receive a reading medal and free book to build up their home library! Teens and adults will receive a coupon to any Friends of the Library bookstore!

Don't forget to grab our Super Reader Bonus Round after you've completed the Summer Reading game board. Read for at least 20 minutes a day for nine days and receive a limited edition "Super Reader" sticker to show off your reading pride! Plus you'll receive an additional grand prize entry!
