State Park Pass

Borrow a South Carolina State Park Pass from the library and explore all 47 state parks. Passes are available on a first-come basis, can be checked out for two weeks, and must be returned to the same branch.

With a South Carolina State Park Pass, you and your family can enjoy free admission to all 47 state parks—perfect for hiking, picnicking, or simply spending time outdoors. The Check Out SC program, a partnership between the South Carolina State Library and SC Parks, Recreation and Tourism (SCPRT), encourages residents to take advantage of the natural beauty and resources our state has to offer.

Passes can be borrowed for up to 14 days with a valid library card in good standing (fines under $10). They are available on a first-come, first-served basis at each branch, and renewals are not allowed. If you’d like to ensure a pass is available, you may call ahead—staff can hold one for you for up to 30 minutes. Passes can also be borrowed or returned using curbside service at your branch, but they must be returned to the same branch where they were checked out.
