That's why we’ve added a new service called Recommends. It’s a simple way to discover books you might enjoy.
Getting started is easy. Just visit our Recommends page, choose the genres you're interested in, and on the 15th of every month, you'll receive an email filled with reading recommendations selected just for those interests. Whether you enjoy New York Times Bestsellers, mysteries, romance, fantasy, historical fiction, biographies, or other genres, Recommends will deliver new ideas to your inbox.
Each genre includes six book recommendations, so the more genres you choose, the more titles you'll receive. You can subscribe to just one genre and get six recommendations each month or sign up for all 23 genres and receive as many as 138 book suggestions in a single email. Everything arrives together, making it easy to browse whenever you're ready.
The best part is that every featured book includes a direct link to the item in the SCLENDS catalog. If something catches your eye, simply click the link to learn more, check availability, or place a hold. It's a quick and convenient way to discover new books and place them on hold immediately.
You can also easily adjust your preferences based on your seasonal reading habits. Maybe you're in the mood for thrillers this month, but want cozy stories later in the year. Or perhaps you've discovered a new favorite genre and want to see more of it. You can update your genre categories anytime, so the books you receive reflect your current reading interests.
The service is also a good way to branch out from your usual book choices. You can stick with your tried-and-true favorites or add a new genre just to see what is in there. You might discover something new and unexpected.
