What’s all the hoopla about? Hoopla Palooza of course!
The theme for this year’s National Library Week (April 19-25) is ‘find your joy’—an invitation for people to discover what sparks joy in them at the library. For us, one of our ‘joys’ is Hoopla, our digital collection platform.
Hoopla is the best way to access your library anywhere, anytime. You can browse eBooks, audiobooks, music, movies, television, graphic novels, and more.
There is more than one way to borrow! The BingePass program allows you to borrow a collection for seven days with just one borrow. There are also monthly recommendations from library staff, or pick free titles during the last seven days of each month with the Bonus Borrows.
What better way to celebrate National Library Week than to invite the team from Hoopla Digital to come down for a couple of fun-filled days? Collectively, we developed an event called Hoopla Palooza as a way to share information about Midwest Tape, Hoopla, the ever-changing digital landscape, and the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation.
The team from Hoopla Digital joined us yesterday for our annual Staff Development Day on April 21. Library staff got a refresher on training, learned about Midwest’s non-profit foundation, and obtained new knowledge about what Hoopla has to offer. In turn, the team from Hoopla Digital was able to connect one-on-one with the library staff.
The best part is that the Hoopla team will be doing the same thing for library patrons on Wednesday, April 22nd! From 10 am to 2 pm, you will be able to stop in at the Beaufort and Bluffton branches and talk to Hoopla experts. You’ll be able to get tech help, ask questions about how the digital platform works, and more. You can also pick up some fun Hoopla swag and enter an amazing giveaway!
