I am pleased to announce our next Artist in Residence: Genni Lib Threet! There's so much to say about Genni's talent and the inspiration behind her work, but it feels best to share it in her own words:

I’m Genni Lib Threet, an artist, creative writer, and educator who combines art history, mixed media, and the natural world to make art that’s curious, colorful, and actually doable. I hold a degree in Art History, and I’m fascinated by the clues and lessons our ancestors leave behind through art and writing.
As a mom of two, I believe creativity shouldn’t require unlimited free time or budgets, fancy supplies, or a perfectly clean table. My art combines expressive materials, found objects, bold color, and meaningful ideas. They are intentionally affordable, accessible, and possible in under an hour. I love using books and poetry to spark creative ideas and often mix writing and visual art, letting words and images inform each other on the page.
I invite people of all ages to slow down just enough to look around, follow what’s interesting, and remember that making things is one of the best ways to feel awake, connected, and human!

Genni is hosting her Art with Intention series at the Beaufort and Port Royal Branch libraries this March and April. Space is limited, so register online, in person, or over the phone today!
