Library Services Update

Due to the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in Beaufort County, and in consideration of the health and safety of our staff and customers, the Library system will postpone the start of the following services until further notice:

- Public internet computer service in branch libraries

- Bookmobile service

Library Administration, in consultation with the Library Board of Trustees and Beaufort County Administration, will constantly monitor the situation and recommend expanding library services at the appropriate time.

All library branches will continue to operate with their revised hours (each opening at normal time but closing at 4:00pm daily to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing). Curbside service will continue during branch operating hours. Books and movies can be checked out at service desks, public restrooms are open, and copier/scan/fax machines are available. Library meeting rooms are not available at this time and library programs are suspended until further notice.

Library cardholders can continue to access the library’s online resources such as Hoopla, cloudLibrary, Flipster Digital Magazines, Lynda.com Online Learning Suite and Ancestry.com Library Edition.

All visitors to County buildings (including library branches) are required to wear a face covering while there.
