This 69th episode updates the public on policies that have been put in place since Beaufort County Libraries have re-opened since closing for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Due to the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in Beaufort County, and in consideration of the health and safety of our staff and customers, the Library system will postpone the start of the following services until further notice:
- Public internet computer service in branch libraries
- Bookmobile service
Library Administration, in consultation with the Library Board of Trustees and Beaufort County Administration, will constantly monitor the situation and recommend expanding library services at the appropriate time.
All library branches will continue to operate with their revised hours (each opening at normal time but closing at 4:00pm daily to ensure proper cleaning...
The Beaufort County Library system is pleased to announce that its branches will reopen to the public with new protocols starting Monday, June 15.
In the interest of preventing the spread of COVID-19 and protecting County employees and the public, library administration has announced several temporary changes to operations that are in line with the public health guidelines put forth by DHEC and the CDC. Friday, April 17 - Book drops at all five Beaufort County branch libraries are now open. Residents are welcome to return their borrowed materials at any time. Please note that a cardholder’s account will not reflect the returned items for approximately two weeks from the date of the return.
Residents may keep their borrowed materials if they choose. Due dates continue to be extended on all items and fines will not accrue while the libraries are closed.

In response to the COVID-19 closures, access to Ancestry Library Edition has been temporarily expanded to Beaufort County Library cardholders working remotely, courtesy of ProQuest and its partner Ancestry.
This home access will be available until the end of April and will be re-evaluated monthly as needed.
