WINTER READING
JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 20, 2026
Beginning Tuesday, January 20, pick up a reading log at any of our libraries or online. Read a total of six hours by Friday, February 20, and you’ll be entered into our grand prize drawing for a chance to win a gift card to a local bookstore! This reading program is designed for all ages, so adults, children, and teens are all encouraged to participate!

How do I participate?
Starting January 20, just come into one of our six libraries or two Bookmobiles to grab a paper reading log. Alternatively, you can print one off of this page when the program begins. The reading log will have spots available to record your reading. Once you've completed the reading log, bring it back to the library so that your name can be entered into our drawing!

Do I have to read a certain kind of book?
Definitely not. Read whatever your heart desires! And if you prefer a story is read to you, audiobooks and reading to others counts too.

Do I have to begin on January 20?
You do not! As long as you complete your six hours of reading before February 20, you can begin whenever works best for you.

Can each member of my family complete a reading log for a chance to win?
You betcha! In fact, we encourage it. This program is for all ages. We just ask that each person submit only one reading log.

What's in it for me?
Well, you get:
-
A sense of satisfaction (supporting your local public library)
-
Bragging rights that you finished the 2026 Winter Reading Program
-
You're well on your way to keeping your New Year's Resolution (obviously it was to read more, right?)
-
Oh! And you have a chance to win a gift card to a local bookstore!

Do I need a library card card to participate?
Honestly, no... but - by supporting this program, you're supporting the public library system and our mission of building a community of readers. Furthermore - library cards are FREE to all Beaufort County residents ages 4 and older. Why wouldn't you get yours today??
