Friends & Foundation Help Library Grow

Libraries are made stronger with help from their communities.

The Beaufort County Library system is fortunate to have not one, not two, but three Friends of the Library groups and the Public Library Foundation of Beaufort County. The Friends and the Foundation are all-volunteer groups dedicated to supporting the work and supplementing the resources of the Library system. The Friends and the Foundation have generously supported library programs such as the summer reading program (Summer @ Your Library), a new Bookmobile, staff scholarships, book collections, online resources, library programs, storytimes, and so much more. The Public Library Foundation is dedicated to building a $1 million dollar endowment in support of the Library system. Through a major fundraiser each year and the commitment of many community donors the Foundation builds the endowment for the future. Now is the perfect time to make a donation! For more information about the Public Library Foundation, please visit the Foundation’s page. Friends memberships start at just $15. Visit the Friends of the Library page or visit your local library branch to pick up a membership form. Volunteering for the Friends is a great way to meet people, have fun, and support the library. Today's libraries are different than we knew as children. They are vibrant centers of our communities where dynamic learning and the exchange of ideas occur. Children, teens and adults can all enjoy the many resources our libraries offer today — our Friends and the Foundation help make this happen!
