Library Announces Staff Scholarships
The Beaufort County Library System is proud to announce a total award of $42,000 in staff scholarships.
The scholarships are the result of a collaboration between The Public Library Foundation, The Friends of the Hilton Head Library and the Friends of the Beaufort Library. Each organization has contributed $14,000 to support one library staff member who is actively enrolled in obtaining their Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) at the University of South Carolina. The scholarships are needs based and may be awarded annually through a competitive application process. These scholarships, from amazing organizations who already provide outstanding support to our libraries, will make a real difference in the recipient’s life and will help our library system grow our own future leaders, stated Beaufort County Library Director Ray McBride. The recipients for 2019 are:
Amanda Floresca, Bluffton Library (Public Library Foundation Scholarship)
Debra Henderson, Beaufort Library (Friends of the Beaufort Library Scholarship)
Martha Bailey, Hilton Head Library (Friends of the Hilton Head Library Scholarship)
