The Beaufort District Collection (BDC) offers local history programs about the Revolutionary War and native son and hero, Robert Smalls, during June. 

“Be Free or Die” Author Reading

Book talk, sale and signing with author Cate Lineberry whose latest book recounts the amazing story of Robert Smalls’s escape from slavery.  Limited space. First come; first seated. Seating begins 20 minutes before program. Program is co-sponsored by the Beaufort County Historical Society.

Celebrate Carolina Day by learning about our state’s Revolutionary War heritage from Doug Bostick, Executive Director of the South Carolina Battlefield Preservation Trust.  Limited space. First come; first seated. Seating begins 20 minutes before program. Program is co-sponsored by the Beaufort County Historical Society.
