Libraries closed on Independence Day
All branches of the Beaufort County Library system will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 to observe Independence Day. The library system will resume normal operating hours on Wednesday, July 5.

Visit Spain with the Friends of the Library, OLLI, Santa Elena Foundation
BEAUFORT - Friends of the Beaufort Library, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and Santa Elena Foundation have banded together to bring an educational adventure to the Lowcountry - a trip to Spain. Included in the trip will be sights in southern Spain -Madrid, Cordova, Seville, Granada, Valencia, and Barcelona - plus a cocktail party with Count Alvaro, a direct descendant of Pedro Menendez, the Spanish explorer who settled Santa Elena (present-day Parris Island) in 1566

WANTED: Presenters for Programs Related to Spain
The Friends of the Beaufort Library is co-hosting a trip to Spain next April with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and the Santa Elena Foundation to visit the sites and also explore Beaufort’s Spanish roots based on the 1566 settlement on present-day Parris Island of Santa Elena by Pedro Menendez de Aviles.
