Friends of the Hilton Head Library Book Break & Film Series

Hilton Head's favorite annual series is back! The Friends of the Hilton Head Library's 2017 Book Break and Film Series starts this week! Book Break starts tomorrow, January 18th at 12 noon in the Library's Large Meeting Room. Refreshments at 11:30am. The series will continue every Wednesday until its final session on March 8th. African-American Cemeteries Exhibit, Researching African-American Roots Program Offered by Library&#

The Beaufort District Collection (BDC) commemorates Black History Month with a special family history presentation and exhibit in February. Monthly Conversation Café to Begin at Beaufort County Library

Starting in February, the Beaufort County Library’s St. Helena Branch is the site of the latest opening in a nationwide movement of Conversation Cafés. This open group welcomes everyone to join in on respectful and friendly discussions of topics that matter. The Café will meet for the first time on Tuesday, February 7th at 5:30pm, and will continue to meet one evening per month at the library. The first topic for discussion slated for February is What Are Your Hopes for 2017? Beaufort County Library Joins Family Literacy 360 Partnership

Updated January 5th, 2017: The Beaufort County Library has partnered with The Literacy Center and the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) to offer classes that teach English to parents and their children ages 5 to 12. Family Literacy 360 is an initiative that uses the Parents and Children Together (PACT) model of instruction, was developed by Dr. Elizabeth Brinkerhoff, Assistant Professor and Assessment Coordinator at USCB Department of Education.
