St. Helena Branch Library to Close Until Thursday

Due to an air conditioning outage, the St. Helena branch library will close at 5:00pm on Monday, August 29th. The County is working to resolve the matter and hopes to reopen the branch to regular operating hours on Thursday, September 1st.

Library Broadens WiFi Access For Students

Partnership with school district to help 50 families Article Published in Beaufort Today By Jessicah Lawrence, Beaufort Today With technology now playing a vital role in learning, Beaufort County libraries north of the Broad River are teaming up with the school district to help more students gain access to the internet. A pilot program last year provided 10 Beaufort County families from Whale Branch and Lady’s Island schools with devices to be used for educational purposes such as completing nightly homework assignments or projects. International Artist Alex Palkovich Exhibits at St. Helena Branch Library

World renowned artist Alex Palkovich has chosen the St. Helena branch of the Beaufort County Library System to display his award-winning bronze sculpture “On the Way to Market.” This 44” tall bronze sculpture depicts an African-American woman with a basket full of vegetables balanced adeptly on her head. The sculpture illustrates the heritage of African descendants in South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
