Important: Beaufort County cloudLibrary users

On May 25, 2022, cloudLibrary content will have a new home within our existing Hoopla Digital app.

Applicable cloudLibrary eBooks and audiobooks will be moved to Hoopla and access to the cloudLibrary will end at this time.

To ensure the proper transition of titles, the ability to place a hold on cloudLibrary content will end starting Friday, April 29. You may continue to read currently checked-out items until the end of May.

Starting May 11, you will no longer be able to check out an eBook/audiobook from the cloudLibrary. If you have an item checked out before May 11, you will be able to borrow it for the full 14 days.

We appreciate your patience during this major transition. We understand the gravity of this change and are working to ensure that Hoopla has even more of the many popular, bestselling titles you love in one app.

Why the change?

The core reason is to streamline your access to our digital content.

Currently, if you are looking for a downloadable book, you must search two different platforms (Hoopla and cloudLibrary).

By transferring titles from cloudLibrary to Hoopla, you will only need to search one platform for digital content.

Now that the Hoopla collection is expanding (called Hoopla Flex), you’ll be able to borrow popular and bestselling eBooks from a single platform.

Plus, we think you’ll enjoy the reliability of the Hoopla platform as well as their customer service.

Will my cloudLibrary holds transfer to Hoopla?

Unfortunately, we can’t offer good news on this front, and we do not take it lightly. Due to the migration of titles from one platform to another, your cloudLibrary holds (your spot on a book’s waitlist) cannot transfer. Please be assured that we are working behind the scenes to expand our Hoopla collection to reflect the most popular items to reduce wait times. When our Hoopla service expands on May 25, you’ll be able to place a new hold on eBooks and audiobooks within the Hoopla app.

What action do I need to take?

None at this time; however, if you don’t yet have a Hoopla account, please see below.

How do I sign up for Hoopla?
