Minding Frankie
Reading a new Maeve Binchy novel is like receiving a long, welcome letter from an old friend. She pulls the reader easily and quickly into the world she has created. In this story, the primary setting is a street in an older neighborhood of Dublin, Ireland. As usual, the characters are so well defined that they jump from the pages. Soon the reader is totally involved, even to the point of siding with or against the various characters. The moral/ethical dilemmas posed in this novel are relevant wherever one lives and the solutions to some of these problems are unique only in the humanity exhibited by members of this community. "Minding Frankie" is a lovely examply of Ms. Binchy's storytelling art. She never disappoints!
