CQ Press explores a single "hot" issue in the news in depth each week. Topics range from social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology. There are 44 reports produced each year including four expanded reports.

Every 12,000-word report is written by an experienced journalist and features comments from experts, lawmakers and citizens on all sides of every issue. Numerous charts, graphs and sidebar articles -- plus a pro-con feature, a chronology, lengthy bibliographies and a list of contacts -- round out each report.

The CQ Researcher Web site offers online access to issues dating back to October 25, 1991.

PDF files are available for full issues dating back to January 1996. For issues published since January 2001, PDF files are in color.

Who Can Access 
 
All holders of Beaufort County Public Library borrower's cards may access the CQ Press database free of charge. Instruction sheets are available at all locations of the Beaufort County Public Library System.

How to Access 
from Your Home or Office Computer

• STEP 1: Click on to the HOME or  OFFICE links at the top of this page.
  
  

• STEP 2: Type in the current USER NAME and PASSWORD as requested.
  
  The CQ Press user name/customer number and password appear on the instruction sheets available to all holders of the Library's borrower's cards (see "Who Can Access the CQ Press Databases", above).
  
  For Assistance: E-mail  Webmaster (and include your telephone number) with any questions about accessing or using CQ Press. While basic advice and assistance can be provided, detailed troubleshooting and technical assistance is not available.
