Please note: The Beaufort District Collection Research Room will be closed on Thurs., Feb. 19th; Fri., Feb. 27th; and Mon., Mar. 2nd due to staff shortage. New Research Room hours begin Mon., Mar 9th due to staff shortage.

Fort Motte: BDC Archaeology Program

The Library's special local history collection and archives unit, the Beaufort District Collection, is honored to host Prof. Steve Smith for a lecture on Revolutionary War era Fort Motte this Thursday, 12 February at 6 pm. Gen. Francis Marion captured Fort Motte from the Redcoats in May 1781. This lecture, co-sponsored with the Beaufort Chapter, Archaeological Society of South Carolina, is free and open to the public. Join us upstairs in the 2nd floor lobby just outside the BDC's Research Room doors for another "enlightening experience" brought to you by the BDC.
