Smithsonian Music exhibit to visit Beaufort in 2011-2012

Fellow BCL Reference Librarian, Amanda Brewer, wrote this short notice for our Staff Newsletter:

Get your Groove on @ the Library: Smithsonian exhibit to visit Beaufort in 2011-2012

Beaufort Branch Library has been selected to host the New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music traveling exhibit during December 17 – February 4, 2012.

This traveling Smithsonian exhibit explores Americans' creative expression through music - music known by names likes blues, country western, folk ballads, and gospel. It is designed especially for small museums and rural audiences that lack regular access to traveling exhibitions. Music-themed library programs will accompany the exhibit.

Why am I writing about it in the Connections blog? The BDC will have some materials relating to music from our holdings on display. You are sure to hear more about this after Thanksgiving!
