Description: Half-hour program for walkers and their caregivers. We use movement with nursery rhymes to introduce phonological awareness, board books to introduce print awareness, and puppet or pictures to introduce vocabulary.

Lunch and Learn - “Margaret Mitchell: Southern Daughter”

Bring a bag lunch and beverage and enjoy a presentation on the life and writings of Margaret Mitchell by Joan Ruffino, noted educator and OLLI teacher. Learn how certain events in Mitchell’s life might have inspired the characters in Gone with the Wind.

The 23rd season of the popular Books Sandwiched In Program features eight book reviews every Monday from 1 until 2p.m. starting Jan. 11 and continuing until March 1. The programs are held at the Sea Island Presbyterian Church on Lady’s Island.

Program co-chairmen Sherry Hirsch and Gretchen Blickle remind participants to bring along their own lunch prior to the review while the Friends will provide a dessert.

Teens will have the opportunity to learn about computer animated design, film editing, and recording music.
